Desperately Seeking Susan

Roberta Glass (Rosanna Arquette) is a bored New Jersey housewife who follows the personal ads for the one romance she can reach. She keeps coming back to the notes passed between a man and Susan (Madonna), a drifter in Manhattan she has never met. Susan Seidelman sends Roberta across the river to spy, and she is mistaken for Susan and wakes into a life that is not hers.
