Gru (voice, Steve Carell) is a reformed villain trying to settle into family life when a new criminal mastermind, Balthazar Bratt (voice, Trey Parker), emerges to challenge him. Lucy Wilde (voice, Kristen Wiig) and the girls stand by him as he pursues Bratt across the globe. By the end, Gru stands with his family in a moment of quiet triumph, the three girls asleep against him on the couch, the house finally still.
