“Things just got a little more despicable.”

Gru (Steve Carell) is a reformed supervillain turned secret agent, and his family has just grown by one, a baby son who seems determined to torment his father. Then Maxime Le Mal (Will Ferrell), an old rival out for revenge, shows up with his girlfriend Valentina (Sofía Vergara), and Gru, Lucy (Kristen Wiig) and the girls have to leave home for a safe house. Chris Renaud directs it at a brisk pace, with the minions underfoot.
