Destiny

“Love is Stronger Than Death”

A young woman (Lil Dagover) wants one thing after Death takes her lover (Walter Janssen) from a village inn: to get him back. Behind a huge wall with no door and no window, he is held, and she poisons herself to reach him. Fritz Lang gives her three chances to prove her love can beat Death (Bernhard Goetzke), and the film is really about the two of them, the one who takes and the one who bargains.
