“There's nothing to lose when you've already lost everything”

Erin Bell (Nicole Kidman) is a Los Angeles detective who looks half-dead, her skin gray and her uniform wrinkled, when a body turns up that pulls her back to an undercover job from years ago. Karyn Kusama follows Erin to the people she worked with then, among them Silas (Toby Kebbell), the gang leader she is now hunting. The film treats guilt as a weight the body carries, and it wears down the one who holds it.
