Devil Between the Legs

Beatriz (Sylvia Pasquel) lives in Mexico City with a husband who insults and humiliates her every day, and she has never once left. Over the years the two have built a dependence so tight that she cannot picture a life outside it, and being degraded has become the way she knows she is wanted. Arturo Ripstein keeps the camera close on the house and the people in it, letting their cruelty play out in plain view.
