Devil in the Flesh

François Jaubert (Gérard Philipe) is seventeen and already jealous of Jacques, the soldier Marthe Grangier (Micheline Presle) married before he went to the front. She waits for his letters from the war while seeing François in secret. Claude Autant-Lara keeps the two of them on the edge of the war, a boy and a married woman with nothing to hold on to but each other.
