Diary of a Chambermaid
Célestine (Léa Seydoux) is a chambermaid from Paris who takes a post in a remote household in Provence, working for the Lanlaires, a wealthy couple. She endures the long hours and the small humiliations of service, and she begins to notice Joseph (Vincent Lindon), the coach driver, who holds himself apart from the rest of the staff. Benoît Jacquot adapts Octave Mirbeau's 1900 novel with a quiet, close camera that stays on Célestine's face.
