Dick Tracy Meets Gruesome
“KARLOFF PETRIFIES THEM!”
A gas that paralyzes whoever breathes it has been stolen from its inventor, and when the ex-convict Gruesome (Boris Karloff) inhales a lungful, the police carry him to the morgue as a corpse. He wakes up and walks out, which is the oddity that draws in Detective Dick Tracy (Ralph Byrd). John Rawlins directs a story about how little a good man's attention can accomplish against a gang that only has to hold its breath.
