Die Nibelungen: Siegfried

(1924)Directed by Fritz Lang148 minAdventure, Drama, Fantasy

Siegfried (Paul Richter) is the son of King Siegmund of Xanten, and he rides to Worms to ask King Gunther (Theodor Loos) for his sister Kriemhild (Margarete Schön) in marriage. Fritz Lang sets the Burgundian court in vast, ornate halls, with Queen Ute (Gertrud Arnold) at its head. Kriemhild and Siegfried are drawn to each other from the start, yet Brunhild (Hanna Ralph) belongs to the same story.
