“First dance. First love. The time of your life.”

Baby Houseman (Jennifer Grey) is dragged along on her family's summer at a Catskills resort in 1963, and she steps in to fill a missing dance partner's place. Her teacher is Johnny Castle (Patrick Swayze), the resort's dance instructor, who has little patience for a girl who can't find the beat. Emile Ardolino lets the lessons run long, and in all that practice, Baby and Johnny stop being student and teacher.
