Distant

Mahmut (Muzaffer Özdemir) is a photographer in Istanbul who lives alone in a quiet apartment, his marriage over and his work more of a habit than a calling. Then his young cousin Yusuf (Mehmet Emin Toprak) arrives from the countryside, hoping to find work on a ship, and takes the spare room. Nuri Bilge Ceylan watches the two men share a small space, and the longer it goes on, the less they have to say to each other.
