“Every killer lives next door to someone.”

Kale Brecht (Shia LaBeouf), a seventeen-year-old on house arrest, fills dead hours watching his neighbors through binoculars from his bedroom window. One of them, Robert Turner (David Morse), begins to seem wrong: the timing of his absences, the things he loads into his car at night. Watching becomes obsession, and obsession becomes certainty, until Kale learns that suspicion itself can be the trap.
