“Her voice was his calling.”

Jules (Frédéric Andréi) is a young Parisian postman who worships the opera singer Cynthia Hawkins (Wilhelmenia Fernandez), and he secretly records her concert on his own tape machine. The next day a woman running from armed men drops a cassette into his mail bag, and now two sets of people want what he's carrying. Jean-Jacques Beineix sets the chase against a Paris of bright color and music, and underneath it all is the question of who gets to own a voice.
