Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood

“The Secret Is Out.”

Sidda (Sandra Bullock) is a successful young playwright whose bitter falling-out with her mother, Vivi (Ellen Burstyn), has left her stuck in a past she can't explain. Back in the Louisiana parish where it began, Vivi's lifelong friends, the Ya-Yas, stage an intervention of their own devising. Callie Khouri keeps the film in the sleepy parish, with Teensy (Fionnula Flanagan) and Buggy (Cherry Jones) among the women gathered around Sidda.
