Django
“The movie that spawned a genre.”
Django (Franco Nero) is a drifter in a Union soldier's coat who walks into a mud-choked border town dragging a coffin behind him. There he meets Maria (Loredana Nusciak), a prostitute caught between a gang of Confederate Red Shirts and a band of Mexican revolutionaries who are tearing the place apart. Sergio Corbucci builds the film around the two of them, a gunman who trusts no one and a woman who has little reason to trust him.
