“He was headed for Beverly Hills to be a plastic surgeon... but he took an exit to a town that didn't take plastic.”

Benjamin Stone (Michael J. Fox) is a young plastic surgeon leaving a Washington D.C. hospital for a lucrative practice in Beverly Hills. Michael Caton-Jones sets him down beside Vialula (Julie Warner), the town's gate-keeping ambulance driver, his California plans waiting at the other end of the road.
