Dodes'ka-den

Every morning a boy named Roku-Chan (Yoshitaka Zushi) climbs into an imaginary trolley and drives it through a shantytown built on the edge of a Tokyo dump, calling out the sound of the wheels. Akira Kurosawa moves between the people who live there, among them a young woman beaten at home and a homeless father and son drawing up the house they will never build. The one that stays with you is Roku-Chan and his mother Okuni (Kin Sugai), who watches him go off to work.
