Dogtooth
“The nature of reality is entirely up to those who control it.”
On an isolated country estate, a Father (Christos Stergioglou) and Mother (Michele Valley) keep their three grown children inside the property, teaching them from homemade tapes in which the sea is an armchair and zombies are small yellow flowers. The parents have also invented a brother, said to have been cast out, to keep the others in line. Lanthimos films the household in flat, careful frames and lets its strange rules play out in a calm, even tone.
