Regina Fuller (Christine Baranski), rich and sharp-tongued, comes back to her hometown with one job: evict every resident so the land can go to a mall developer. Standing in her way are Margeline (Jenifer Lewis), a town full of neighbors, and Angel (Dolly Parton), who is an actual angel. Debbie Allen choreographed and directed the film, with fourteen new Parton songs, and what it keeps returning to is that a place belongs to the people who show up for each other.
