Dom Hemingway (Jude Law), a safe-cracker, walks out of a London prison after twelve years of keeping his mouth shut, and he wants his payment. His old associate Dickie Black (Richard E. Grant) and the wealthy Mr. Fontaine (Demián Bichir) are the men who owe it. Richard Shepard writes a man loud and sure of his worth, and under all that talk the film keeps asking what loyalty is worth when it costs a dozen years.
