Dominion: Prequel to The Exorcist

“Go back before the beginning, to the place where evil was born.”

Father Lankester Merrin (Stellan Skarsgård) has stepped away from the Church, his faith broken, and thrown himself into history and archaeology. Rachel Lesno (Clara Bellar), Father Francis (Gabriel Mann) and Major Granville (Julian Wadham) are among the people around him as the work goes on. Paul Schrader keeps the pace slow and the feeling heavy, letting dread gather before anything is shown.
