Don Quixote

Orson Welles shot this over more than a decade, from 1957 into the early 1970s, and left it unfinished when he died in 1985. Don Quijote (Francisco Reiguera), an old knight, and his squire Sancho Panza (Akim Tamiroff) wander modern Spain, still chasing the chivalric ideals of the old romances. Jesús Franco assembled the surviving footage in 1992, and what holds it together is one man's refusal to let the world as it is replace the one he believes in.
