Donnie Darko

“28 days, 6 hours, 42 minutes, 12 seconds... that is when the world will end.”

Donnie Darko (Jake Gyllenhaal) sleepwalks out of his bedroom one night in October 1988 and survives a bizarre accident, only to meet Frank (James Duval), a figure in a large rabbit costume who tells him the world will end in 28 days. Richard Kelly sets it all in a suburb where adults mostly worry about their lawns and their schools, and what Donnie fears is that nobody around him is paying attention.
