“The spotlight's not for everyone.”

The Commune is a small New York improv theater, and its six-person troupe has built a life there, onstage and off. Then the landlord takes the lease, and Jack (Keegan-Michael Key) is picked to join a hit sketch show. Mike Birbiglia sets the group's easy affection against the first real test of it, with Samantha (Gillian Jacobs) caught between the friend leaving and the friends staying.
