Nobita (Megumi Oohara) wants nothing more than to help the mermaid princess Sophia, whose undersea kingdom is buckling under a long war. Doraemon (Wasabi Mizuta) and the rest of the gang follow, and Kōzō Kusuba sends them after a mythical sword from the planet Aqua, the one hope Sophia has left. Underneath the adventure is a plain idea: a kid who is usually the one needing rescue chooses to be the one who shows up.
