Double Whammy

“A comedy about a detective with everything... but a clue.”

Why is the whole city treating Ray Pluto (Denis Leary), a New York cop, as a joke? The tabloids call him the "loser cop," a pair of screenwriters across the hall keep knocking for his help, and his building's superintendent has just been stabbed by hoodlums hired by his own daughter. Tom DiCillo puts Ray in the middle of it, tired and badly dressed for the weather, with a chiropractor (Elizabeth Hurley) pursuing him and a partner who has started to hover.
