“You'll Dig Doug!”

Bluffington is a small town built around Lucky Duck Lake, and the week before the school's Valentine's Day dance finds Doug Funnie (Thomas McHugh) worried mostly about Patti Mayonnaise (Constance Shulman). Then he and his best friend Skeeter (Fred Newman) go looking for the monster in the lake, and someone lets slip that it is real. Maurice Joyce's film puts the jittery nerves of a first crush next to a friendship that holds steady, with the monster to protect.
