“YOUR NEXT STOP... IS HELL.”

In a New York City skyscraper, the elevators start failing without warning, and the people riding them pay for it. Mechanic Mark Newman (James Marshall) is sent to find the fault, while reporter Jennifer Evans (Naomi Watts) chases the story on her own, and the police suspect terrorists. Dick Maas, remaking his own 1983 film The Lift, keeps the camera inside the narrow steel cars.
