Down in the Delta

“Sometimes, the last place you expected to be is the one place you've always belonged...”

Loretta Sinclair (Alfre Woodard) is sent out of Chicago with her children, and the reason is not a vacation. Addiction has hollowed out her life, and her family is putting her on a bus to the Mississippi Delta to spend the summer with her uncle Earl (Al Freeman Jr.) and aunt Annie (Esther Rolle). Maya Angelou directs the family's return to the old house, where Loretta and Earl size each other up across a table.
