“Old habits die hard.”

Irene Morrison (Vera Farmiga) wants a marriage that still has some life in it and two kids who stay fed and cared for, all while hiding her drug habit from everyone in her small town. Debra Granik follows her through the stale routines of home as winter arrives and the arrangement starts to slip. Irene stands in the cold with her boys' coats in her arms, and the habit waits for her at home.
