“April 1945, a nation awaits its... Downfall”

In the final days of World War II, as Soviet forces close in on Berlin, Adolf Hitler (Bruno Ganz) retreats into his underground bunker with his inner circle. His secretary Traudl Junge (Alexandra Maria Lara) watches as the Führer and those closest to him face the collapse of everything they built. Hirschbiegel finds in these last hours not drama but a slow, suffocating recognition: the most monstrous regimes end not with clarity, but in fog.
