Downhill

Roddy Berwick (Ivor Novello) is captain of his school and the pride of his father, Sir Thomas Berwick (Norman McKinnel). When his friend Tim Wakeley (Robin Irvine) is caught in a scandal, Roddy takes the blame, and he is expelled and cut off by his family. Alfred Hitchcock follows him from waiter to penniless actor to gigolo, and Roddy keeps sinking, lower each time, without once telling the truth.
