Downsizing

“We are meant for something bigger.”

Paul Safranek (Matt Damon), an occupational therapist, signs up for a new procedure that shrinks a person to four inches tall, hoping to help the planet and stretch his savings into a comfortable life. His wife Audrey (Kristen Wiig) backs out at the last minute, so he enters the small-scale community alone. Alexander Payne treats the premise as a plain social comedy, with ordinary neighbors, ordinary money worries, and a world that only looks different.
