A letter arrives at Downton in 1927 announcing that the King and Queen will visit the Yorkshire estate, and the household has little time to get ready. Robert Crawley (Hugh Bonneville) wants the house at its best, while Charles Carson (Jim Carter) and the staff, John Bates (Brendan Coyle) among them, are summoned to meet it. Michael Engler fills the great house with stately rooms and busy corridors, the family upstairs and the servants below.
