Downton Abbey: A New Era
“A cinematic return.”
In 1928, Robert Crawley (Hugh Bonneville) and his family pack for the south of France, where the Dowager Countess, Violet (Maggie Smith), has unexpectedly inherited a villa. Back at Downton, a Hollywood director has asked to film his latest production in the house itself. Simon Curtis divides the story between the two places, and Mary (Michelle Dockery) looks out over the Riviera from the terrace of a villa she has never seen.
