Dracula

(1931)Directed by Tod Browning74 minHorror
“The story of the strangest passion the world has ever known!”

Renfield (Dwight Frye), an English estate agent, travels to Transylvania to close a lease on a London property for Count Dracula (Bela Lugosi). The Count follows him back to England and begins calling on the city's socialites, among them Mina (Helen Chandler) and her fiancé John Harker (David Manners). Tod Browning frames the story in stone halls and long staircases, and Lugosi stands in them, pale and motionless, waiting for the late hour.
