Dracula

(1958)Directed by Terence Fisher82 minHorror
“Who will his bride be tonight?”

In the Transylvania of Bram Stoker's novel, Jonathan Harker goes to Count Dracula's castle and attacks him. The vampire answers by travelling to a nearby city and turning on the family of Harker's fiancée, the Holmwoods, including Mina (Melissa Stribling) and Lucy (Carol Marsh). Terence Fisher shot the first vampire film in colour, and Doctor Van Helsing (Peter Cushing) faces Count Dracula (Christopher Lee) with the red of blood now plainly visible.
