Son Goku (Masako Nozawa) is a young boy with a tail, a magic staff, and a habit of meeting people by accident, among them Bulma (Hiromi Tsuru), who is hunting the Dragon Balls. King Gurumes wants the same Balls to end his endless hunger, and a village girl named Pansy goes looking for Master Roshi. Daisuke Nishio directs this first alternate telling of Goku's early search, and it holds that a good adventure only needs friends to share it.
