Son Gokû (Masako Nozawa) is a fighter who would rather be training or eating than thinking about anything else. Then the scientist Dr. Kochin uses the dragon balls to bring back his dead mentor, Dr. Wheelo, whose body was destroyed fifty years ago and who now wants the body of the strongest fighter alive. Daisuke Nishio builds the film around that hunt, which is really about strength: who has it, who wants it, and who it belongs to.
