Drawing Closer

A hospital is where Akito Hayasaka (Ren Nagase), a 17-year-old with a year left to live, meets Haruna Sakurai (Natsuki Deguchi), a girl who has only six months. Takahiro Miki sets their story against the narrow limits of those two clocks. He starts with a plain question: what is worth doing when time has been counted for you, and the film answers by showing a boy who finds his reason in making one other person happy.
