Drawing Restraint 9

Two guests (Matthew Barney and Björk) travel to Japan and board a whaling ship, where they are drawn into a courtship that unfolds through Shinto rite and the tea ceremony. Matthew Barney shapes it into a feature-length film alongside sculptures, photographs and drawings, with a soundtrack by Björk. Around the ship's work with whale blubber and refined petroleum, the pair move slowly toward each other, bound by the rituals that surround them.
