“The last guy she wants is the only one she needs.”

Nicole Maris (Melissa Joan Hart) wants a date to the school's centennial dance, and she wants the right boy to see her walk in with someone else. Her next-door neighbor Chase Hammond (Adrian Grenier), who has never been in her circle, wants the same thing from another girl. John Schultz sets up their fake romance as a favor between two people who barely talk, and the dance is the deadline.
