Driving Miss Daisy

(1989)Directed by Bruce Beresford99 min · PGDrama
“The funny, touching and totally irresistible story of a working relationship that became a 25-year friendship.”

Daisy Werthan (Jessica Tandy) is an elderly Jewish widow who insists she can look after herself, so when she wrecks her car, her son Boolie (Dan Aykroyd) hires a chauffeur she never asked for. Hoke Colburn (Morgan Freeman) is a Black driver who takes the job and waits for her to let him do it. Bruce Beresford follows the two across twenty-five years, and what begins as a wary working arrangement turns into a friendship each of them has to learn to admit.
