“Taking crime to new heights.”

In 1994, an airliner at 30,000 feet becomes the scene of a prison break, and U.S. Marshal Pete Nessip (Wesley Snipes) loses his brother in it. Ordered to hand in his badge, he goes to Jessie Crossman (Yancy Butler), a noted skydiver, and offers to sponsor her crew at the Independence Day show in Washington if she will teach him to jump. John Badham sets the two of them in a plane, a student who needs her skill and a teacher who has no reason yet to trust him.
