Drunken Angel

A young yakuza walks into a doctor's clinic in postwar Tokyo with a bullet wound in his hand, and the X-ray shows a shadow on his lung. Sanada (Takashi Shimura) drinks too much and talks to his patient Matsunaga (Toshirō Mifune) like a man with nothing to lose, which makes it hard for Matsunaga to ignore him. Akira Kurosawa sets their fight over one life against a gang boss who is coming home and wants Matsunaga back.
