Rome has not seen rain in three years, and the rationing of water is rewriting every rule of daily life. Antonio (Silvio Orlando), Valentina (Monica Bellucci) and Loris (Valerio Mastandrea) are among the young and old, the poor and the well-off, the victims and the profiteers, each hunting for a way out. Paolo Virzì follows them as one crowd, cutting between their stories until they start to share a single design.
