Dukhtar

“A mother's extraordinary journey begins in the heart of Pakistan.”

In the mountains of Pakistan, on the eve of a ten-year-old girl's wedding to a tribal leader, Allah Rakhi (Samiya Mumtaz) takes her daughter Zainab (Saleha Aref) and runs. Afia Nathaniel, in her feature debut, follows them down the mountain roads while the men sent to bring them back close in. A truck driver, Sohail (Mohib Mirza), is the only person they meet along the road.
