Dunkirk

“When 400,000 men couldn't get home, home came for them.”

Hundreds of thousands of British and French soldiers are trapped on the beach at Dunkirk with German forces closing in. Tommy (Fionn Whitehead), a young infantryman, joins the desperate effort to reach the ships, while RAF pilot Farrier (Tom Hardy) covers the evacuation from above. Nolan cuts between the three timelines as the window to get everyone home shrinks by the hour, and not everyone makes it.
