Dunkirk

“When 400,000 men couldn't get home, home came for them.”

Hundreds of thousands of Allied soldiers stand on the beaches of Dunkirk in late May 1940, cut off and surrounded by the German army, and no one on the sand can say how they will get home. Christopher Nolan follows it from three places: Tommy (Fionn Whitehead) among the men waiting, Mr. Dawson (Mark Rylance) out on the water, and a Spitfire pilot (Tom Hardy) in the air. The men have a week at most before the beach and everyone on it is lost.
