Qin Yan (Qin Hailu) is a young woman from northern China who crosses into Hong Kong on a three-month visa to work as a sex worker. Fruit Chan follows her through that stretch, then north again to her family and her former fiancé, where the money she earned has to be put to use. Alongside her is Fan (Wai-Fan Mak), a young neighbour, and the two are held together by little more than the same cramped corridors.
